THINGS GET WORSE IN SPAIN
Apparently the situation is Spain is as bad as ever and as frustrating as ever as the horses are still with Suzy Jenkins and the OCA are not being helpful in securing their release.
Allegedly more horses have died and there could be in excess of 20 horses now dead!
The CACMA are not allowed to deliver food to the horses but we are led to believe that they are getting some food from Jenkins but we are not sure how much. No one including vets are allowed into the finca to help the horses.
We do still need to collect as much money as possible as once the horses are released they are going to cost a lot of money in vets, farriers, dentist , water and food. We are retaining all the money collected in the UK "Spanish Appeal" account and this will only be sent to Spain when we know it will go directly to help the horses and not be spent on Admin or legal fees. The horses are still in a very poor state and not strong enough to withstand a journey of any distance.
There are many offers of local help in Spain to take some horses to help them get stronger. There are also offers of "in transit" accommodation in France to rest the horses during transport back to UK. We have been overwhelmed by offers from people in UK to re-home horses on a life time basis.
Thank you to all those who have made donations and we will be grateful to anyone who feels they can contribute - however small the amount.
Many thanks
