Trakehners UK Annual Grading and Show 2006

What a roller coaster weekend.  As we arrived at Addington on Friday night we had to call the vet to our 3 year old Holme Park Vogue (Holme Park Krug/EM Holme Park Vabanque) as the floor of the trailer she was travelling in had given way and left a large hole near her hind legs!!  She had put one of her legs through but thankfully she was intelligent enough to pull it back quickly and then stood very carefully with her legs at the edge of the hole.  The thought of what we might have found when we opened the trailer is not pleasant and we are so relieved she is ok.  She was obviously withdrawn from the grading as she had skinned her leg but will be represented next year.

The second injury on the way up was the foal Holme Grove Isis (Holme Park Krug/Holme Grove Ich Bin) who fell over in the lorry and then had a swollen knee and had to be withdrawn, he is now fine.

On Saturday we presented Holme Park Legend for the first part of his stallion grading.  When shown loose in the main arena unfortunately there was a temporary wire gate over the entrance to the arena and Legend ran through it!  He did not appear injured and continued to do his loose jumping, however on the Saturday morning he was a little stiff so we had to withdraw him too - this was a real shame as he was looking magnificent and in with a good chance.

On a better note we were thrilled at the outstanding results for our daughters of Holme Park Krug achieving 4 Premiums in the grading (one subject to Performance Test) and a 5th Premium confirmed for Holme Park Kur following her Performance Test where she scored 7.3 and was Reserve Champion.  Holme Park Diva was Reserve Champion of the Mare Showing.

So the Premium Daughters for Holme Park Krug so far are:

Holme Park Kur
Holme Park Kaskade
Holme Park Kadence (s.t.p.t)
Holme Grove Devaux
Holme Park Diva

3 of these are out of Holme Park Kalahari (now 20 years old) which add to Holme Park Kristie who was already Premium and Holme Park Karachi who is PSG Dressage and on the Saturday night Kalahari was awarded ELITE STATUS. Holme Park Kaskade, Holme Park Kur and Holme Park Kadence were shown in the arena to represent Kalahari during the presentation.

Holme Park Kaskade went on to win the Riding Horse Championship on Saturday - congratulations to Pat Marlin.

Special congratulations also to Marleen and Edward of the Singing Stud on their stallion Singing Horatio being graded.  Horatio is by Arentino out of Holme Grove Hawaii by Pascal.
