APPRENTICE GROOM / RIDER

We are looking for a 2nd apprentice Groom to join us at Holme Park Stud, Northill.  Duties to include

·         Mucking Out

·         Turning Out

·         Feeding

·         Tack Cleaning

·         Grooming and other stud duties in breeding season

·         Land management duties

·         Previous experience with horses essential 

·         Rider an advantage but not essential

Full training will be given Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care, Functinal/Key Skills and Knowledge Component.

Training Provider : KEITS

Salary: National Minimum Wage for Apprentices = £2.60 per hour

5 Day Monday – Sunday (Days off negotiable) Week – 8:00am – 5:00pm with 1 hour lunch

Possibility of full time employment with the stud after apprenticeship if candidate is suitable.

Full Training towards other equine examinations i.e. BHS and BGA (British Grooms Association).

 This is a great opportunity to work with one of Europe's leading herds of Trakehner Horses.  This is a beautiful new yard with modern facilities.

We are not necessarily looking for qualifications - more important to have good practical experience and a love of working with horses.  A confident quiet handed rider is essential as we are bringing on quality young horses. 
You must be a dedicated cheerful person who is happy to work as part of a team.
