At the age of 21 years old we sadly had to say goodbye to our wonderful mare Kalahari due to ill health.  She was bred in Germany by Joachim Arp and purchased in Neumunster.   She was a timid little 2 year old filly when we brought her over from Germany back in 1988, who was bottom of the pecking order.  Over her first few years at Holme Park she grew in confidence and became matriarch mare and was respected by all the other mares.  She had 13 outstanding foals including 4 premium daughters and several very successful dressage children who have competed up to Prix St Georges level.  Below you can see a record of her children. 
In 2006 at the age of 20 she was awarded the prestigious Elite Title by the TBF and it was a very proud moment for Paul and Susan Attew when the award was presented by Lars Gehrmann, the Breeding Director of the German Trakehner Verband at the Annual Stallion Grading in Germany. 

Her daughter PM Holme Park Kur will replace her in the herd to keep this valuable blood line alive.
