Hi Susan,
Just a short note to say thank you for the DVD, we really enjoyed the open
day, the weather was perfect again (I don't know how you do it!) and it was
great as always to see all your babies - I thought once I was lucky enough
to have one I'd stop hankering after all the others, but they are all so
lovely its hard not to dream ....
So, talking of dreams - Cole is fabulous! He's working hard and starting to
look much more mature now, really beginning to grow up, although still a
complete baby at heart. He's a real time-waster, the most popular boy on
the yard and always ready for hugs and cuddles.
I thought you might like to see how well he's going so I've enclosed some
pics of him with my trainer, Stephen Moore, on board. I'm really pleased
with the way he's coming along and hopeful that we can get him out and about
a bit later this year.
That's it for now, best wishes to all at Holme Trakehners and hopefully see
you soon.
Love
Jane & Coleus
xx

Hi
Susan,
Hope you are well and enjoying our lovely summer weather!
Just thought I'd drop you a quick line to let you know that Coleus is fine.
He's settled in as head of our little herd (him, my 19yr old Trakehner and a
yearling whose joined them both for company).
He's been a really good boy, coped with everything about being in a new
place, is a joy to handle being really quiet and well behaved and also a joy
to ride, being somewhat less quiet but still well behaved!
We've done a little bit of hacking out around the local streets, have to
smile as he struts his stuff and passers by say what a beautiful boy he is.
We had our first lesson with Lisa yesterday, it was great fun although we
found it a bit hard going as the ground in my new arena is still very deep
and it was quite hot so we were both sweating a little by the end.
The only thing thats surprised me so far is his attitude to food - its
always been the main interest in my chestnut's life, with Coleus I always
feel that he's doing me a little bit of a favour by eating his feed, or even
if I give him something lovely like an apple - he's definitely not greedy!
Anyway, that's it for now. I'll get some photos organised and send those
next time.
Best wishes to all,
Jane & Coleus
