Holme Park Sauturnes

This beautiful mare was bred at Holme Park Stud, Ashwell back in 1995. She was sold as a filly to Mr Stern in Lincolnshire. In 2004 we had a call from Mr Stern to say he was not well and Sauturnes was in foal as his Arab Stallion had got in with her. He did not know any dates but she was very large and showing signs like waxing! Paul and I went over with the trailer so we could bring her home if we thought necessary - she was indeed very large and almost too wide to put on the trailer. We brought her home and the next night she produced twins (see full story).

Sauturnes has remained on loan to Holme Park Stud ever since as Mr Stern was not well enough to have her back. She has proved a wonderful broodmare.
