Holy Night is due to foal on the 25th June - she was restless last night (23rd June) and this morning has a lot of wax on her teats - see photo below - this is where the first colostrum milk is forced through the teats as they prepare to foal. Normally this is a sign that they will foal in 12 - 24 hours. Watch this space for news of the imminent arrival
Holy produced a stunning very dark bay colt at 21.50 He has a beautiful head and wonderful body! The last foal of the year safely delivered now we have to wait a whole year again for more babies - looking forward to it already...
This is Holy Night's 8th foal - and 5th colt and the 125th foal born at Holme Park Stud!
